Delaware Valley Chapter No. 3 has been the recipient of the much coveted “Chapter of the Year” award in the large chapter category eight times in the last thirteen years, a tribute to the achievements and contributions of the chapter membership. The Chapter newsletter, Delaware Valley’s Manager was first published in 1988 under the leadership of then President Rita D. Vogt, CPM, and continues to be published quarterly. The newsletter puts into concise form the events and activities within the Chapter, news from IREM National and Region II Chapters, career opportunities and legislative issues. The ARM Committee, was named a winner in the ARM Committee of the Year competition in 1991, 1997 and again in 1998. This very active committee holds meetings as well as half and full day seminars regularly in the eastern, western, northern and southern areas of the chapter’s jurisdiction. The committee was recognized in 1999 for its recruitment efforts. The chapter sponsors many educational offerings, including a joint partnership with other chapters in Region II to offer Fundamental, Intermediate and Advanced level IREM courses in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York areas. In an effort to enable our CPM Candidates to meet their educational requirements for the CPM designation, the chapter offers IREM’s Course 800 “Ethics in Real Estate Management” seminar on an annual basis. It also holds Candidate only receptions to answer questions and help them through the process toward becoming a Certified Property Manager. Dinner meetings continue to be held approximately nine times a year, with an annual Friends of IREM Showcase, a Golf Outing in May and a Real Estate Market Forecast, held in January, in cooperation with other local real estate associations, including BOMA, the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Tri-State Commercial & Industrial Board of Realtors.
